Pre-registration Midwifery programmes are currently commissioned by the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS) and provided by Queen’s University, Belfast.
There are two main routes open to undergraduates when they want to become a midwife. A three year direct entry course should be chosen if you are NOT a registered nurse. 

The 18 month course should be chosen if you are a registered with the NMC as an adult nurse for a minimum of one year. For further information about any of these courses, please contact:
