The development of the Attributes Framework was led by the HSC Safety Forum and NIPEC during 2014. They collaborated with stakeholders including clinical staff, educators and those responsible for services in HSC Trusts across NI. The professions represented were Nursing, Medicine, Allied Health Professions (AHPs) and Social Work. The Framework’s remit covered all staff working/in-training in HSC (click here to show previous work page). In December 2014, the Framework was launched by the NI Minister for Health, Chief Nurse and other Chief Professional Policy Advisors for Medicine, AHPs and Social Care.

The Attributes Framework comprises simple, concise and unambiguous QI competency statements arranged in 4 levels which reflect potential QI roles within organisations. An online self-assessment tool enables individuals to quantify the QI development they require for each competency - to access the competence assessment tool/s please follow the link to the online portfolio http://nipecportfolio.hscni.net/ you must be registered on the site to view the competence assessment tools section which is located on the left hand menu bar.

An electronic copy of the Quality 2020 Attributes Competence Assessment Tool has also been produced.

The Level 1 elearning programme  is available to complete online.

NIPEC is supporting the Q2020 Task Group 17 Leads and key stakeholders to agree the content for Level 2 and Level 3 programmes. Both Queen's University Belfast and Ulster University are ensuring that the undergraduate programmes reflect Level 1 of Q2020 Attributes Framework.
