Nursing and midwifery staff from across HSC met recently at the Senior Nursing and Midwifery Strategic CoP organised by NIPEC. Dr Sam Donohue from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), shared an overview of her doctoral research exploring professional enjoyment in nursing and the factors that enhance and diminish enjoyment. The attendees appreciated hearing about the research findings and engaged in insightful and stimulating discussions. Sam’s key points resonated with the CoP participants and many shared their own experience of the issues. The session was kindly hosted by the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.
Commenting on the event, Linda Kelly, Chief Executive of NIPEC said
“We were delighted to have Sam with us to share her research findings. The main themes align closely with issues that the Senior Nursing and Midwifery Strategic CoP has been identifying and discussing. We will be looking at how, we as senior leaders in nursing and midwifery, can influence and progress some of the key themes regionally.”
