Geraldine McKendry

Senior Professional Officer

Geraldine  joined NIPEC as a Senior Professional Officer in 2022. Since then she has led in a number of regional projects and professional programmes.

Geraldine has been a member of Regional and Strategic Groups in relation to Mental Health and Psychological Therapies during her nursing career. In addition, she has led in the development of both local and regional service improvement initiatives. She has a passionate interest in Acute Mental Health care and the integration of Psychological Therapies.  Geraldine represents NIPEC, as Mental Health lead and member of the Regional PPI Forum.

Geraldine began her nurse training in 1987 at Holywell Hospital, Antrim. She has worked across a wide range of roles within hospital, community and primary care settings; as a Specialist Practitioner in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, since 1999, a Sector Lead within Psychological Therapies Service and a Senior Manager in the Northern Health and Social Care Trust

Geraldine is a Registered Mental Health Nurse, holds a Diploma of Higher Education in Professional Development in Nursing, BSc (Hons) in Specialist Nursing Practice including specialist study in Cognitive Behaviour Psychotherapy, specialist post graduate study in Clinical Supervision and Trauma Management, as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Health and Social Care Management.
