The All-Ireland Digital Capabilities Framework for nursing and midwifery was launched via a virtual event 23 November 2021. |
The framework was developed through a collaboration with NIPEC, Digital Health and Care NI, the office of the Nursing and Midwifery Services Director (ONMSD) Ireland, the Health Service Executive Ireland and the Australasian Institute for Digital Health.
The Nursing and Midwifery Task Group report (2020) and associated funded implementation plan identified digital practice as a key priority. The launch of this framework is an important step in building capacity in this important area of practice and alongside Departmental policy imperatives which have exponentially expanded over the last 18 months during the required response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The All-Ireland Digital Capabilities Framework for nursing and midwifery is the first release in a phased development plan which should eventually lead to production of a multi-professional digital capability framework for all professions in Ireland.
