Based on the Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment (SSSA) NMC 2018, a regionally agreed model for SSSA is now in use to support student learning. Every student will have a nominated practice assessor and at least one practice supervisor to support them to achieve a range of learning outcomes. All NMC registered nurses and midwives are capable of supervising students and serving as role models for safe and effective practice. Students may also be supervised by other registered health and social care professionals.
It is expected that all registrants will progress to become practice assessors.
