On behalf of the CNO, NIPEC are leading on the development of a regional Quality Assurance Framework for Nursing and Midwifery in partnership with HSC organisations and the Independent Sector. This framework sets out to demonstrate the value the professions bring to providing high quality care that is safe, effective, person-centred, timely, efficient and equitable. In order to achieve this the framework will focus on the five domains of the IHI Quintuple Aim which provides us with our ‘North Star’ to better care that increases access for everyone and reduces costs.
A Steering Group has been set up with a number of workstreams who will apply a whole system quality approach to understand and appreciate what we already have in place to provide assurance against each of the domains of the Quintuple aim and also where our gaps are. This approach will focus on Jurans Trilogy of Quality Planning, Control and Improvement in order to ensure Quality Assurance.
