Eunice Strachan

Senior Professional Officer

Eunice is a Senior Professional Officer at NIPEC, having been appointed to her current post in October 2022. Previously, Eunice worked in a Senior Nursing Governance and Patient Safety role in SEHSCT.

Eunice is a Registered Nurse and qualified Midwife with extensive national and international experience including general nursing, cardiology, critical care nursing, midwifery, governance and patient safety; which she gained working in Northern Ireland (NI), London, Aberdeen and Zambia.

Eunice promotes the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care and is a Scottish Improvement Leader, having led and supported multi professional groups in quality improvement. Eunice established the role of Critical Care Infection Prevention and Control Nurse in Belfast, the first in NI, and has also led on a number of service improvement initiatives in Zambia.

Throughout her career Eunice has continued her professional development. She has a MSc Advanced Nursing and published and presented her research and that of the Regional Intensive Care Unit (RICU) patient follow up team. Eunice has a Diploma of Higher Education in Midwifery with Distinction and specialist courses in Intensive Care Nursing and Infection Prevention and Control.
